Give Feedback for a Skate Exhibit at the COR Museum
Check out the City of Raleigh Museum for more details.
Skateboarding has been part of Raleigh’s story for decades (since the 1960’s!)—Now, there’s an exciting opportunity to help tell that story in a new way.
The City of Raleigh Museum is now exploring plans for a future exhibit focused on the history and culture of skateboarding in Raleigh. The museum regularly hosts exhibits and educational programs that highlight the people, places, and movements that have shaped the city’s past, present, and future.
To help shape the exhibit, museum staff are asking the community for input; gathering stories, memories, photos, and perspectives from the people who helped build Raleigh’s skate scene—from longtime locals who remember early DIY spots to younger skaters pushing the culture forward today.
If skateboarding has been part of your life in Raleigh—whether you skated, filmed, photographed, built spots, organized events, or just hung around the scene—your voice can help ensure that the story is told accurately and authentically.
You can share your experiences by filling out the community input form here.
Interested in speaking directly with museum staff about your experiences or helping contribute to the exhibit? You can also leave your contact information here.
Raleigh’s skateboarding history is a community story. This exhibit is an opportunity to document the people, places, and moments that have shaped the scene—and to make sure those stories are preserved for future generations.
