Thanks to the help of the State Archives of North Carolina and the News and Observer, we have thousands of photos and film documenting the history of skating in Raleigh.
In partnership with the City of Raleigh Museum and as part of Downtown Raleigh Alliance’s First Friday events for May, we’re hosting a one-night preview (May 2, 5-9pm) of selects from the Archive’s collection, ahead of bigger project on Raleigh’s skate history.
Starting at 7pm, we’ll hear the stories behind some of the new (and old) photos from photographers Pete Thompson, Chris Facey, and Chris Seward.
