December 30, 1983

Greg Stringfellow (9) and his step-brother Patrick von Wellsheim (11) race down a hill at Shelly Lake on their skateboards, riding on their stomachs and laughing as they pick up speed. The boys had just received the boards as Christmas gifts and were eager to test them out in every way possible. Captured on December 30, 1983, this moment was photographed by John Rottet.
